It all began with a simple message.
In 2020, Dennis reached out to April through social media.
They were both members of a Facebook group called Solo Traveler Budgetarian, a space for travel lovers like them.
Though they shared a common passion for exploring new places, their connection didn’t take off right away.
Every April month, like clockwork, Dennis would send a birthday greeting: “Happy Birthday, April!” And each year, April would politely reply with a “Thank you.” After that, the conversation would end—until the following year, when Dennis would greet her again.
For three years, this quiet pattern continued.
Then one day, Dennis finally mustered the courage to send a real message—not just a birthday greeting. To his delight, April responded, and the conversation flowed.
From that day forward, they began talking more often and grew closer with each exchange.
A special moment in their story happened when April visited her mother in her hometown, Olongapo City. Determined to surprise her, Dennis rode his motorcycle all the way from Quezon City — a long journey fueled by love and excitement.
Disguised as a Foodpanda delivery rider, he showed up with two bouquets of red roses and a box of donuts, pretending to make a delivery. April’s mother received the flowers and, overwhelmed with joy, excitedly chatted with the “delivery boy” — not realizing it was Dennis in disguise. In her delight, she even said to him, “Did you know that my daughter is single?” — completely unaware that she was speaking to her daughter’s suitor!
It was a thoughtful, funny, and unforgettable moment.
Over time, every visit to the Philippines brought them even closer. Though April was working in Singapore and distance challenged their relationship, their bond only grew stronger. What began as casual messages turned into something deeply meaningful.
Their journey wasn’t easy at the beginning. They faced challenges and seasons of uncertainty. But each trial only strengthened their relationship, building a foundation of love, patience, and perseverance.
Then came the most unforgettable moment of all.
On December 29, 2024, while visiting April in Singapore, Dennis proposed. It was a Sunday, and April had no idea what was coming. With the help of April’s close friends, Dennis surprised her at church and got down on one knee—right in front of the congregation and before God. With no hesitation, April said yes, her heart full of joy and certainty.
Now, they stand hand in hand, hearts full of gratitude for the beautiful story that God has written—one filled with unexpected beginnings, quiet persistence, and unwavering love. What started with a simple message has grown into a love deeply rooted in faith, trust, and shared dreams.
As they prepare to say “I do,” they look forward with joyful anticipation, ready to embrace the next chapter of their journey—together as husband and wife, guided by grace and surrounded by love.
